INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE

Further to our previous announcement, here are some clarifications and more details regarding events on September 21 & 22.

Sunday, September 21, 2003 - Mann Auditorium

The artistic program and speeches inside the Mann Auditorium will be televised exclusively by Keshet Productions. Channel 1, 2 & 10 will be allowed to do live segments for their news programs and will have mobile units outside.
Foreign TV stations may contact their colleagues in the Israeli channels to coordinate availability of footage. Keshet is obligated to give all news organizations a tape of the event. There are restrictions in the use of the material - 5 minutes of the artistic program and unlimited use of the speeches . Requests for tapes should be submitted to the office of Shmuel Elgrably - attention Noa -selg@netvision.net.il. Tel: 03-6958124.

Print Journalists for the auditorium are requested to register with Sharon Gorbagi at the GPO via e-mail sharong@gpo.gov.il. Tel: 02-5007514. (First come, first serve basis) or 056-205288.

Stills
There will be a FPA still photo pool at the artists' entrance for the arrival of dignitaries.
This pool will also cover the foyer and will have photo opportunities inside the hall.

TV POOL
A FPA TV pool will cover the artists' entrance and foyer but will not be allowed inside the hall. Glenys Sugarman of the FPA will be organizing the pool.

Monday, September 22, 2003 - International Conference "Vision & Reality"
At Smolarz Auditorium, Tel Aviv University (Enter University from Gate 4)

The conference will begin at 8:30 and end approx 19:00.
There will be four panels, each, one and a half hours. The sessions are as follows:
9:30 - 11:00 First Panel - Geopolitics and Peace. Moderator: Prof. Itamar Rabinovich
11:10 - 12:40 - Second Panel - The Promise and Risks of Science & Technology
Moderator: Prof. Ilan Chet, President, Weizmann Institute of Science
12:45 - 14:30 Lunch Break
14:40-16:10 - Third Panel - Water & the Environment. Moderator: Prof. Avishay Braverman, President, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev
16;20 - 17:50 - Fourth Panel - Interrelation between Art and Culture and Politics. Moderator: Dr. Ilana Dayan, Presenter, Channel 2 News, Israel Television
18:00 - 19:00 Closing Session. Speakers: Mr. Shimon Peres, Chairman of the Labor Party; Mr. Ariel Sharon, Prime Minister of Israel

The sessions will be televised by JCS and a live feed will be provided to JCS. Please coordinate footage requests with Mr. Ezra Muallem, OB van Production Manager 050-293639. No other cameras will be permitted within the hall. The Israeli TV stations will be permitted brief live standups for their news programs.
